Folk Alliance International begins Wednesday, February 15 and ends Sunday, February 19 in Kansas City, MO, USA. One of the largest music gatherings held in North America, this conference is a mainstay on the tour schedules of many, wall to wall music for venues to choose from, learning and networking opportunities and a chance to see old friends and meet new.

Update – Kris Kristofferson presented the “People’s Voice Award” to Bruce Cockburn at the Folk Alliance Internationa Awards Ceremony.
Cockburn’s acceptance speech reflected on the political climate and the need for singer-songwriters to keep on singing to encourage dialogue and debate. Also, among the winners, David Amram who was presented with the Folk Alliance International Lifetime Achievement Award.
