Burns and Kristy
TERRY BURNS is the youngest of the acclaimed “Burns Sisters” who carries on the legacy of creating meaningful and memorable songs with stunning vocals and harmonies, in a style all her own. She recorded 3 records with her sisters and then became a staff writer for EMI Music, MCA/Universal and Larga Vista Music.
RON KRISTY has been composing music for TV and film for over 25 years. His music can be heard around the globe on “The Dog Whisperer”, 20/20, PBS documentaries and The Discovery Channel, among many others.

It may sound like a fairy tale, but the story of Burns and Kristy is not only true, it’s what fairy tale’s are made of. Ron heard Terry sing “If I Were The Wind,” at a mutual friend’s home in Nashville TN 8 years ago, and as Ron tells it “decided to take the chance of a lifetime,”. The rest as they say is history; the sparks flew, they fell in love, got married and had their first child Noah Skye. Their first CD together is as harmonious and joyful as the couple are about their partnership and raising their child. “Caravan” will leave you breathless, wanting more, lift your spirits and soothe the day away.

Chris Kocher hosts “The Signal” WHRW 90.5 FM every Tuesday night from 7-10pm in Binghamton, NY. Making his debut in radio last fall, Chris has wanted to do radio for a long time, and finds the time radio came into his life is just right. Initially Kocher’s show aired early Saturday mornings, not an easy shift, but he stuck to it and when the opportunity was presented by station management, Kocher was in for an evening spot. His show is a mix of music genres ranging from rock to folk and everything in between, producing playlists of music he likes and knows his diverse audience will enjoy. He spins and hosts local, regional, national, and international talent, and discusses local events in the area, keeping his audience apprised of what’s going on in Central NY.

Kocher is also the music/entertainment writer and editor for media mogul Gannett, in Central New York. Chris has written for the Press & Sun-Bulletin for the past 7.5 years. Like his radio show, he sheds light on musicians and the best places to visit and hear great music in his area, as well as interviewing some of the greatest musicians in the business.

In fact, Chris may very well have been the last person to interview the late great Marvin Hamlisch, saying in a piece Aug. 12 “It’s very odd to think that, of all the journalists who interviewed acclaimed composer Marvin Hamlisch over the years, I was one of the last – if not the last.”

A former writer for the folk and world music magazine Dirty Linen, Chris’s work has also been published in Sing Out! Magazine. Chris is married, blogs now and then, uses FB and is active on Twitter.

Kocher’s favorite quotation ~ hmmm might have to borrow it myself :)
~ “Music is my greatest teacher and my religion and the only prayer I know. It opens the doors to the land of the spirits.”
