Davey O is a working man’s singer-songwriter, layering pretense -free Americana as he seeks the truths, and endures the trials of the human condition.

DAVEY O. “Testing For Rust”

“Testing For Rust”, defies the simple description of a “collection of eight songs”. Each song represents a moving and emotional tale – stories fully realized through artful yet subtle arrangements married to evocative, image laden and often metaphorical lyrics. On “Testing For Rust”, Davey continues to explore the truths and trials of the human experience that bind us all.
If you don’t already know of Davey O. and his music, perhaps its time. He has embarked on a decade plus journey of growth, discovery, joy and heartbreak that has resulted in a collection of justly-earned, highly introspective songs, -pure Americana written for the thinking person that is not of the social and political consciousness. The album draws from the deep well of experience and human emotion with no hackneyed story lines, no insincere polish, just an unflinching poet’s look at life.
Armed with a steady, rhythmic pulse on his Gibson guitar, a battered straw cowboy hat and a no apologies rust-belt work ethic, Davey puts rubber to asphalt, entertaining attentive diverse audiences at stages throughout the Northeast, Midwest, Mid-south, and Atlantic U.S, as well as supporting slots forTracy Grammar, Eilen Jewell, The Ginn Sisters, POCO, William Elliot Whitmore, Eric Andersen, and The Kennedy’s.
Davey O’s hard work has paid off with recognition by way of 5 Buffalo Music Award nominations, 7 ASCAP Plus Awards, and a 2004 WNY People’s Choice Award, and a 2011 Official Formal Showcase at the International Folk Alliance held in Memphis TN.
“Testing For Rust” Davey O.’s 6th album weaves stories into songs, arousing reminiscent images of life, love and dreams in your past, your future and your present.
