Craig Bickhardt penned a 12 song CD recorded live at Sellersville Theater in June, and as Nick Cristiano of the Philly Inquirer comments “Presenting selections from his two solo albums as well as two new numbers and a Richard Thompson cover, Bickhardt displays an unerringly exquisite touch as he makes you cry, makes you laugh, and makes you think. And shows why he had to get back into “The Real Game.”

Nathan Bell scores at #69 of the Heycoolkid!s 100 Best Songs of 2011 with “Rust” from the album “black crow blue”
Every artist hopes that when they write they’ll touch someone. Nathan Bell strikes a chord with reviewer Jay Armstrong and his song “Rust”: “when it came up on shuffle just stopping what I was doing and listening so intently that I played it three times in a row. There’s no doubt in my mind the place Nathan Bell was at when he wrote this song, although I may be wrong, I get the feeling that this song must have been a huge release for him when it was finished.”
Nathan Bell talking about his craft; “I care whether or not my songs are important to the listener but I never think about the listener while I’m writing and recording. I think about the song.”
Somewhere beyond the blurry horizon line, beyond the stark light of Springsteen’s Nebraska and Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood, Nathan Bell started walking. Not literally. Not metaphorically. No, in songs. Fourteen of them: harsh light, black & white with a few cold shades of grey portraits about what it means to be unseen, to be a stat, a bar code, an unintelligible part of the fuzzy blur.
Bell knows of what he writes.

Craig Bickhardt‘s “Prayers For You” is the featured music included in Holley Dey’s beautiful piece “A Holiday Gift For You” presented at On Tap Blog.
“A Holiday Gift For You” is Holley’s way of expressing her gratitude to everyone reading and commenting on her blog which focuses on singer/songwriters, the business of music, and so much more. It’s one of the most eloquent blogs that I read, and I can’t help but share it with you!
Take a moment from the rush of the holidays, read Holley’s beautiful blog, and enjoy listening to Craig Bickhardt performing “Prayers For You” from the album “Live at Sellersville Theater”.
Happy Holidays!
Enjoy the review of Danielle Miraglia‘s performance at the ArtMusic Coffeehouse on Dec. 18 by Paul Smeltz of The Forwardian Arts Society.
Paul states “Singer/Song writer Danielle Miraglia is considered by many to be a blues artists. But, if her performance is what it means to have the blues, I’m throwing away my Prozac. There is a joy and humor which stitches their way throughout each song and story connected to it sewing a smile to each face and heart who are penetrated by her needling insights and wit. While the influence many great blues singers has on Ms. Miraglia’s compositions and performance styles can be speculated on, there is little doubt, if any of those legendary performer were the experienced her talents, they would be inspired by her.”

Box of Troubles
A review written for the Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange by Bob Gottlieb
“This singer/songwriter, and guitar player has released an impressive disc for one that appears so young. It has a resilient strength and does not back down, nor does it back away from anything. There is a force and strength here that shines on through all that comes along, echoed by the relentless and strong steady thumb plucking on the bass notes of her guitar. An interesting voice that sounds as if it has seen too much and yet has an innocent quality at times that deflects the too much whiskey thought. One of those young yet old in other ways voices that might be in some ways reminiscent of early Janis Joplin, not in the power of the voice, but in the dichotomy between the voice and the amount the singer has experienced, an old person in a younger body.
There are ten songs on the disc and she wrote all but the Traditional Stagger Lee. There is an acoustic feel to the disc though they do plug in upon occasion. It is basically Danielle on vocals, acoustic and electric guitars and stomp box, and Tom Bianchi on electric and upright bass as well as backing vocals, percussion and harmonica. There are a plethora of others that contribute quite effectively on background vocals or a number of other instruments on a song or two. Make no mistake this is her disc and it is about her music, what the others contribute are important touches and effective finishing touches but unessential to the disc. This is someone that this reviewer is going to keep an eye on, as good as the disc is there is a tremendous potential for growth and expansion here.”

Craig Bickhardt
FOLK AMERICANA ALTERNATIVE COUNTRY
On the evening of June 24, 2011 The Sellerville Theater’s lights dimmed, Craig Bickhard stepped on to the stage, and the rest is….in your hand!
From the boisterous club scene of Philadelphia to the country-rock milieu of Los Angeles to the picking parlors of Nashville, Craig Bickhardt has immersed himself in the sights and sounds of American music. His music reflects a life lived as a rock band lead singer, a solo troubadour, a dedicated songwriter and a husband and father. Also crucial to Craig’s art is his virtuosic guitar work, interweaving folk, blues, country and ragtime influences into a unique whole. It all comes to life, captured perfectly here on LIVE AT SELLERSVILLE THEATER.
“Craig Bickhardt’s “Live at Sellersville Theater” CD is absolutely top notch. The recording quality, writing and musicianship have found a happy marriage on this disc. A pleasure to share with my audience.” – Steve Clarke, Acoustic Planet, CHES 88.1 Radio, Erin, Ontario, Canada
The album is available by visiting Craig Bickhardt’s website or visiting ITunes
Nathan Bell’s latest CD “Black Crow Blue”

The Lonesome Drifters Albums Of The Year
“Black Crow Blue” is also Geordie’s pick on the Lonesome Drifters Albums Of The Year.
Geordie finds he can’t argue with a couple of quoted reviews and states “An album i first came across over at Songsillinois.net and he sums it up nicely saying there is a certain James McMurtry similarity going on here but i think also some Springsteen too. Really deep, powerful songs that i think John Conquest of Third Coast Music summed up perfectly, writing “Bell’s mature talent makes a good case for the argument that people shouldn’t start writing songs until they’ve been around long enough to know what the f%$k they’re talking about.” Can’t argue with that really.
Nathan Bell “Black Crow Blue” can be purchased at CD Baby and we think it makes a perfect stocking stuffer.
