UMass Boston’s Golden Key International Honour Society chapter, WUMB FM Radio, and
the Boston Area Coffeehouse Association (BACHA) recently kicked off their annual Share the
Warmth Clothing Drive to benefit those in need in the Greater Boston area and beyond. At the
conclusion of the 2010-2011 drive, an impressive 2,400 pounds of clothing was collected over
the course of 3 months.
In an effort to get the word out about the drive every year, WUMB FM announces the special
clothing drive shows on air and lists them on its website. In addition, the radio station collects
clothing at its winter member concerts, and staff members regularly donate items.
Golden Key students make arrangements with participating coffeehouses and WUMB FM to
pick up clothing items (often a car full at a time) and manage the distribution of donations.
It is anticipated that 20 coffeehouses in the BACHA network will be participating in this
year’s drive, collecting warm winter clothing items at their fall and winter shows. One of the
coffeehouses is Third Fret Coffeehouse. In 2009, Third Fret sponsored a clothing drive concert
in Marston Mills, Massachusetts. Concert goers donated over 100 warm coats at the show for
those in need. The collected clothing items were donated to a local shelter in nearby Hyannis,
Massachusetts.
This year, Third Fret is sponsoring a clothing drive concert on December 2, featuring musicians, Jody Blackwell and Teresa Storch. The show will take place at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.
Additional details can be found on Third Fret’s website. Concert goers are encouraged to
donate gently worn or new clothing items for the drive such as: winter coats, scarves, mittens,
gloves, and hats, sweaters and sweatshirts, and socks.
The idea behind the annual drive is to “share the warmth” of clothing items collected
with many non-profit and goodwill organizations that serve those less fortunate in our
communities. The clothing items collected at Third Fret’s December 2 show will be donated
to Missie’s Closet, a Community Action Committee of Cape Cod and the Islands program.
Missie’s Closet is committed to providing services to help empower and improve the lives of
low-income residents of Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties by providing resources and
self-advocacy skills to attain and support self-sufficiency.

Danielle Miraglia’s new release “Box of Troubles” takes a journey through the blend of darkness and light that life has to offer. It’s a barebones folk-blues recording highlighting Danielle’s strong finger-pickin, sweet whiskey vocals and stomping left boot, with a little help from her friends on such instruments as upright bass, viola and a little bit of sax.
Danielle will play songs from her new record and other favorites Saturday, November 26th at Union Coffeehouse, East Bridgewater, MA.

All of us at Trespass Music are heartbroken that Terence Martin lost his battle with pancreatic cancer yesterday afternoon, passing peacefully in his wife Amy’s arms, and held by his children Hallie and Asher. Though many of us knew this day was coming, the loss of this wonderful family man, teacher, poet and singer songwriter, still stings and the tears and heartache for his loved ones, fans, and colleagues are shared by many.
Terence inspired and touched people throughout his life, and continued to do so during this struggle, pressing on to write and record 4 new songs, leaving all of us a legacy of music and words to live by.
Every once in a while you meet someone very special. Terence Martin was just that, very special. Rest in peace Terence, we miss you.

Condolences can be sent to Barbara Roehrer – Acoustic Music Agency
A very special issue of the Tracker- I hope you will all take a moment to read the beautiful piece that Michelle wrote on Terence Martin. Prayers and well wishes can go a long way
