The Third Fret Coffeehouse Season Opener Concert Features Les Sampou
On Saturday, September 11th, 2010 the Third Fret Coffeehouse returns to the Liberty Hall to
kick off its 5th season. The headlining act is Les Sampou:
Les Sampou has been in demand as a live performer for two decades, playing clubs and concert
halls and such prestigious festivals as Montreal Jazz Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival (where she
won the coveted New Folk Award out of 700 contestants), Philadelphia Folk Festival, and Falcon
Ridge to name a few. She has given workshops at Berklee School of Music and appeared on
the top syndicated radio programs such as Acoustic Cafe, World Cafe, and NPR. Sampou has
released four albums: two on her own label, MoNando Music, and two on Rounder Records, all
grabbing the attention of DJs and press people nationwide who gave her unanimous praise. Her
second album, “Fall from Grace”, topped the Gavin Americana charts nationwide. Boston radio
station WUMB awarded her “Best New Artist of the Year.”
Opening the show is Long Island based, Joe Iadanza:
Born of Italian immigrants and union activists, this Long Island, NY native knows about the
passionate struggle of the American dream. Joe Iadanza is a late bloomer whose songwriting
did not become prolific until his early 30’s with the birth of his first child. “I wanted my
daughter to grow up with a dad who followed his dreams.”
The Third Fret Coffeehouse is located in the Liberty Hall, 2150 Main Street Marstons Mills.
Doors open at 7pm, music starts at 7:30. Tickets are 15.00 in adavanc and 18.00 at the door. All
refreshments are included in the ticket price.
