From Joe Iadanza’s Website: http://joeiadanza.com/2010/09/30/introducing-name-your-price-cds-and-downloads/

The radio told me that the recession ended in the middle of last year. Well, that may be true on paper, but I still see a lot of my friends struggling. We need music more than ever, and I’m not going to let economic troubles stop me from getting it to you.

Starting today, you can NAME YOUR PRICE for CDs and for Digital Downloads of my music.

That’s how much I want to share my music with you.

Growing up on Long Island, listening to music was serious business. My favorite artists were as important to me as my best friends Jack and Rob. There wasn’t a whole lot of other things I was into, and I guess the world seemed a lot smaller and more local. The world was indie, even if the music back then wasn’t.

It’s the same for me today. The albums I cherish make up the soundtrack of my life. When I connect deeply with an artist, they change me somehow. No matter where I’m at, I suddenly feel like I’m part of something deeper and more profound. I couldn’t get by without them.

When things get tough, we cut back. That’s ok, but music is too important to pull off the list. If you need it, want it, or are even just a little bit curious, then I want you to have it.

Don’t be shy… Pay what you want – pay what you can afford – even if you can’t pay anything at all – just come and get it.

Many thanks to J.W. McClure and the folks at Victory Music for taking the time to review “All in Good Time” for there current issue:

Review of Joe Iadanza’s “ALL IN GOOD TIME”, by J.W. McClure:

This haunting CD begins with ‘Skin and Bones,’ with sparse banjo and clear lyrics, “Oh, my crime was leaving you there all alone.” A young man lies about his age and goes off to war–a timeless story. ‘Taxi Car’ speaks of an urban setting but Iadanza makes this poem seem like the bitter author is as isolated as a wagon on the prairie. This is unusual poetry, leaving behind the tired rhyming schemes of

pop music. ‘For Those Who Wait’ continues the subdued tone, instruments, fiddle and guitar, are sparse but quite adequate to the meaning. All of these songs are lyric driven. At times the melody is insignificant and Joe is just speaking to us. Some of these song poems are painful and full of alienation. The closest song to a predictable melody is ‘Stuck On You’. The whole collection is quite unusual, interesting, although a bit dark. Iadanza requires a listening audience and he got my attention.

New Singer-Songwriter Music Series on Cape Cod
theartbarn
Cotuit Center for the Arts and Trespass Music are pleased to announce a new partnership to be launched with ‘The Art Barn Songwriter Series’ beginning in September. The series will be held on the second and fourth Monday of every month. Each performance features 2 professionally touring songwriters playing a 45 minute set. Doors open a 7:00pm and the shows begin at 7:30. There is a suggested donation of $5.00 at the door.

The Art Barn Songwriter Series will be held in the Art Studio building to the right of the main building at Cotuit Center for the Arts. This special series will give music fans an up close and personal look at the area’s up and coming performers. As a surprise treat, nationally touring artists are expected to stop by for an occasional show. theartbarn

“For a long time we had the idea of creating a comfortable, fun and affordable series that works for everyone. Musicians get to share their work with a new audience, and music fans on Cape Cod have a regular place to come and hear some of the best new music being created. When we discovered the Art Barn, we knew it was the perfect space for what we had envisioned. I was thrilled when the folks at CCftA agreed to it.” –Tracey Delfino of Trespass Music

“Music is an integral part of CCftA’s programming. One of the Center’s goals is to be known as a venue for ongoing concerts, genre series and as a resource for music education. When Trespass Music approached us with the idea of a bi-monthly songwriter series we jumped at the opportunity. The Center’s studio is the perfect setting for such a venture and we look forward to expanding our musical offerings through the Art Barn Songwriter Series.”- David Kuehn, Executive Director, CCftA.

The season kicks off on Sept 13th, with Long Island based singer songwriter Joe Iadanza and Cape Cod’s own John and Rachel Nicholas sharing the night.
